Wax Museum of the Portuguese Discoveries
The Wax Museum of the Portuguese Discoveries tells us about a spectacular and exciting journey through time: the History of the Discoveries in 16 different scenarios, in an educational but also entertaining way. This is done through a thematic approach starting with the Battle of Aljubarrota, the marriage of King John I and Philippa of Lancaster (The Treaty of Windsor), the Conquest of Ceuta, the Discovery of Brazil and the Arrival of Vasco da Gama in India, amongst many others.

... and what they were like in reality!
When entering the musuem, visitors will come face to face with Portuguese historical characters who transformed the world: Kings, Queens, maritime explorers and knights and other, dressed in period costumes, all based on rigorous research. The 230 square metres of space, offers something of interest to visitors of all ages.
As the main aim of this project is to involve visitors in a magical world of light and sound, even the very youngest are bound to be dazzled with the spectacle. The museum has 22 highly realistic wax figures that are comparable to those in the best wax museums of the world.
